This review is mostly spoilers.
I liked this book, I'd give it a 4.5. It could've been better, I liked the way the characters developed; I had a little bit of experience with Riley from The Immortals series, but I loved Bodhi.
I think the scene with the Radiant boy was absolutely terrifying, I'm terrified of clowns, and the way they explained it just freaked me out,
"His flaming eyes and bleeding mouth veering closer and closer as a tangle of snakes leapt onto my chair causing me to cringe, squishing back in my seat as far as I could, wishing I could scream, find a way to call for help, but knowing that to do so would only allow admittance to those horrible, whirring instruments. Pressing against the thick canvas straps, struggling against them with everything that I had. But it was not use."
As it explains the snakes have three heads, and the floor is absolutely covered in them, and she's strapped into a dentists chair.
I like the Radiant boy, or more like boys. That was a twist I wasn't expecting, but the way she explained him/them was neat, with the fire in their eyes and giant gaping black holes for mouths, and the only reason they were even still there, made me think of Total Drama Island, because of the fame.
I think it was sad when we got to Bodhi's job, for a few reasons, the first one was that she lost her kids, the second one was that her kids were haunting on the other side of the same castle, and the third reason was that Bodhi took her sorrow and grief, and if he didn't make it he was going to get demoted, and obviously he's a pretty cool person.\
I love how they got Buttercup to fly with them to London, but poor Buttercup, he thought they were leaving him all alone, and he had to face his fears all by himself.
I think the book could've been a little bit longer, they got a great story in the 178 pages, but I don't like have books that are so small, it just feels weird holding them, but I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I'm still neutral on it. If the story wouldn't have been good, and it was still short, then I'd definitely lower the rating by a lot.
